Wow - Time Flies...

So much has been going on since I last updated - I will try to remember everything and here we go...

First of all, there was an issue with DISH Network at the beginning of the month, so I still have no television - however, this issue was supposedly reconciled over the last two weeks, so hopefully will be setting things up on the 2nd of July. I have learned not to get too excited over anything lately, so I will just have to wait and see... luckily I can watch "True Blood" online until TV is available.

I am down to one animal - my cat Crookshanks. The dog - Shadow - went to a woman that has braces on her legs that needed a service dog right away. I am happy for him, he really is a good dog for this, and I know he will be treated well. Luna, my black cat, went to live with my neighbors behind me. I see her several times a day still, and have the comfort of knowing that she's loved, and happy. I had adopted another kitten - also black - named Nightmare... unfortunately she didn't work out as I believe she was too young to be away from her mother - so she was returned to the woman that I got her from. Anyway, Crookshanks is probably the best and coolest cat I've ever had - and I'm glad he's still around. I have no plans in the future to let him go. Not only that, but I may be getting into an apartment soon - so perhaps it's a good thing that there's only one animal left. Fate? Coincidence? Who knows. But it all worked out.

My social calendar has picked up a few new things - besides basket weaving, I'm also doing ceramics - and we go to the Corral Association Events whenever they are held as well. Add this to the crocheting and Sit & Stitch, and I have a pretty full calendar every week. I don't always make it to everything, but I try.

Work has picked up, as it always does around this time of the year... two new sites are being done. One for the store where I do my crochet - called "Creations".... this will be a full web site, which will include a full catalog that you can order from. My first store site - it will take me a little longer than my others as the catalog will have thousands of items that will have to be inventoried. I HAVE, however, started the template and it's really nice. :-) The other site I can show you the beginnings of - it's Dreams of Dying - a feature film that's being directed by my adopted brother, and starring my adopted sister, lol... they have a Facebook page for it as well - so you can keep up to date on what's going on with the production. It sounds like a cool flick - and I'm really excited that I'm involved with getting things together for it. Also doing updates on Nick McCallum and Natalie Avital's sites (this being my adopted bro and sis) - and learning cool new tricks for them too. It's always fun to work with fun people - and these are fun people... love them dearly. So yeah, pretty busy in the work department - which is good because...

My plan is to head back down to Los Angeles to celebrate my birthday... I won't be going ON my birthday as it's in the middle of the week - however, I will be heading out on the weekend before. This is the plan, and I'm going to bust ass to make it happen. Again, learned not to get my hopes up about anything anymore, but I want this - and I will make it work if possible.

On a different personal note - since Bruce has graduated, he has moved out into his own apartment - funnily enough, the same complex where I'm on a list for a one-bedroom... he's doing very well - finished his CNA training, and now in the market for a job. Luckily he doesn't have to pay rent until he gets one. I'm extremely proud of him and hope that he keeps up the good stuff... so go Bruce!

Well, it was a big one, but I think I got everything in. And I'm really going to try and be better at updating, like I was before, so I can make somewhat smaller blog posts, lol.

The weather is gorgeous in Ely, NV!

Relying On Others

You just can't do it. You can NOT rely on other people - okay, I get it now... took me awhile, I'll admit it - but I know now. What's funny, is the same people you CAN'T rely on, expect you to do what you say... what's up with that? Why is it that I follow through with things for certain people - and yet they're able to say something to me, and not follow through??? I have a little advice to those people that can't keep their word; DON'T PROMISE ANYTHING!! That way you don't have to keep a promise. Especially if you're not planning on keeping it anyway - if you're not planning on keeping it - DON'T MAKE IT!!!!!! Got it? Good, thanks.

Now that that's off my chest...

NINE DAYS until I get my satellite ordered - and hopefully not long after that it will be hooked up. I mean, True Blood's third season starts on June 13th, and Big Brother 12 starts in July! TWO shows that I like to watch... just in time eh? ;-)

Amazingly busy week this week - tomorrow afternoon is "Warm Up America" (where we get together and make blankets for the needy) - then tomorrow night is "Sit & Stitch". Thursday Bruce is graduating (YAY!!), and Friday is the second basket in the series (IF we have time)... so yeah, lots to do - LOTS to do...

I love when I'm busy, makes time go so much faster. :-)

12 DAYS!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow Bruce turns 18 - then Thursday is his graduation from High School... he was just over here today, and we discussed just how close he came to not having a graduation - but he's graduating... I'm very proud of him - he really pulled himself up these last few weeks. He'll be officially an adult too, and he's moving out of his mother's house the day after graduation... I think they're all ready - at least, I hope they are.

Last week I picked up a new skill - basket weaving;

It's something Deb decided she wanted to try, so she signed us both up for a series of classes. One series = four baskets, so we have three more to make... it's supposed to be every week, depending on our instructor's schedule. As for me, I really enjoy it - I'm so proud that I was able to actually MAKE this basket - yes, it took around six hours, but look at it! Job well done I'd have to say. :-) By the way, it's about 11 inches tall (including handle), and nine inches across... so it's a pretty decent size too. It's called a Market Basket. Our next basket is an Apple Basket, and I've seen it... there are more series of classes, but I'm not sure right now if we're signing up for them - I would like to, but we'll have to wait and see...

One more thing I've done this week - and it was definitely a labor of love... I built a website dedicated to the people closest to me in this world... I'll be working on it off and on in the future - but the gist of it is already online. You can check it out HERE.

My phone has been turned off again, and when I can, I am getting a new phone with a new provider - it will be cheaper, and it will be unlimited, unlimited, unlimited - you can't beat that. :-)

ONLY 12 MORE DAYS TILL SATELLITE!!!!!!!!!!!

15 Days & Counting

Time is moving SOOOOOOOO slow, it's crazy. And it's not like I'm not trying to keep myself busy. I've been doing stuff every day! Today's schedule is simple, clean house then go to Sit & Stitch for three & a half hours. Tomorrow Bruce is coming over so we can get the yard cleaned up (I'm actually going to pay him for this)... that will take awhile. Nothing is planned for Friday, yet, but give me time and I'll MAKE something happen, lol...

Once I get the satellite hooked up - it's all gravy from there... so it's no wonder that I am keeping track and counting down the days until it happens. I'll feel like a normal person once I have television, lol. I'M NOT AMISH!!!

Oh, and look what my sister made for me - I WISH I looked like this, lol:

Anyway, so yeah - that's what is going on at this time... 15 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Counting Down the Days...

So, to be precise, there's only 18 more days before I have my satellite finally hooked up. I know this probably isn't a big deal to many - but you try living without ANY television at all, in your home, for six months - and then come back to me about it. Of course, this is only for people that actually watch TV - not the ones that don't believe in it, or are Amish or something. Yes, I am finally able to take the plunge and get it done... thanks mostly to the people that have hired me recently to re-design their website... :-)

It's funny - today I was over at my friend's house (obviously watching her TV, lol) - and I actually got excited when I thought of how close it was to having my TV hooked up. I truly did. I looked at her with this big shit-eating grin on my face and said "Oh my god! I'm going to have a working TV in less than a month!" She just laughed at me. I don't care though - I happen to know for a fact that she wouldn't be able to go without for so long. Oh she SAYS she could - but I promise you, she couldn't.

Anyway, so yeah, that's what's happening in 18 days.

As for today - it was laundry day... that's why I was at my friend's house. She lets me use her washer and dryer for free if I buy my own soap... this is much better than the $3.00 a load it would cost me in the laundromat. I don't trust the laundromat anyway - it's always empty (though always open) when we drive by. I wonder if it's as haunted as the Hotel Nevada... at any rate, I'd rather not go there...

While the laundry was being done, my friend and I went to the front yard with all her Husky puppies, so she could get some more pictures of them. I loved playing with the puppies - I can't believe they're almost 5 weeks old already. Time sure does fly when it comes to animals... like MY puppy... he's getting absolutely huge! Good thing I'm training him to be an outside dog. A few more months and he probably won't even be able to FIT in my little trailer, lol. But no worries, he's very happy - and he's definitely one of the smartest dogs I've ever had (which isn't saying a lot since I haven't had many, lol).

Okay, I think that's about it for now... got a lot to do this week. I'm seriously trying to keep myself as busy as possible so time will go faster for me. I mean, after all, it's only 18 MORE DAYS!!!! Oh yeah!
