I'm really proud of this site - pretty proud of ALL my sites, lol. I go crazy about this one in particular because we've had the domain since June '08, and I've been chomping at the bit to get it started. Now that it HAS been started, I'm enjoying getting it all together.

When it Rains it Pours
The quote in my subject line has nothing to do with the actual weather - especially since it's NOT raining outside today. It has to do with website work.
I started getting the advice column site together, then Christy sets me up with something else - which I am also now working on. THEN I get a call this morning from my sister - and she's hiring me to re-do HER site! All of this work in just the last couple of weeks. I have never had three projects going on at one time! I explained to my sister that I had two other sites I was working on at the moment, and she was cool with that, and will wait her turn. I LOVE doing websites - and I especially love doing sites for people that I know and can trust to pay me on time, lol.
So yeah, the quote "When it Rains, it Pours" really fits this situation.
On a side note - if you get the chance - you should watch "Prayers for Bobby" tonight on the Lifetime channel. I think EVERYONE should watch it.
I have to go to work on the sites now - but I'll post later, after the movie.

BORING Night at Work - But Good News Too!!
First of all, they really didn't need me tonight - they could have done without me, seriously. It was SO slow! We actually had an hour where only six people came in. A whole hour, and only SIX people! However, at 8pm we did have a party of 40 for a birthday celebration. I still didn't have much to do with this, as I was just a greeter tonight - so I sat them, and then that was it for me. The servers, cooks, and ice cream people were hella busy though - poor things. Anyway, so that was pretty much it for the night - and I got off at a decent time too, so that was cool. One of the girls asked me to take her shift next Saturday - I was like "Hell yeah!" because I was only scheduled for two days - well, now I have three, lol. The check should be nice the week following that.
Good news - I put a shell together for the new site, and THEY LOVED IT!! I'm so happy! Now we just have to get the content and we'll launch. I'm looking forward to it. Did I already talk about this? If I did, I'm sorry, I'm just so excited, lol.

Cool!!
So C goes out today to meet up with an old friend - then I get a phone call from her about putting together a website for a kid's acting school that she and this friend are putting together. This "friend" of hers by the way, worked with her in "Even Stevens", and I got to talk to him today - and he's a really cool guy. :)
Anyway, so I threw something together for them to check out - and they LOVED it! So now they just have to find a place to put the school - they hope to have things up and running by the first of March. The website is done, well the SHELL is - it still needs content, which will happen pretty quickly - then we'll launch. I'm guessing the the launch will happen in the next two weeks, and when it does I'll put a link to it here, as well as on my portfolio.
I am still working on the advice column, but that should be finished soon as well.

I guess I'm in trouble tonight - for telling a story to someone that I shouldn't have told. Oh well, it was a funny story, lol - and no, I can't tell it here or I'll be murdered in my sleep. I'm not kidding.

Now This is EXACTLY Why...
I'm reminded time and time again why I don't like doing websites for people who THINK they know everything, yet know nothing - at least about designing a website. Example: the guy I'm now working for (with), though a very nice guy, thinks he knows how to put a site together. Question: if you already know how to do it - why HIRE someone else? Why pay for something you obviously think you can do better? The only thing I'm complaining about is that I already had a really cool design for him, and he just scrapped the whole thing! I worked for three days on it and he's like "No, let's do it like this...". Now, if he already HAD an idea of what he wanted, why didn't he share it with me in the beginning?? Why wait ten days later? Shit, I could have been done with it by now if that were the case... but no, he decides to go out of town (unreachable) for a week - then come back and say "HERE, THIS is what I want."... jeez. So I have to start all over again... and I'm STILL waiting for content from him. So we'll have a nice shell basically. Which means longer for launch - and longer for him to pay me. Fucking wonderful.

It's A New Day
I've been watching the inauguration coverage today, and to be perfectly honest, it has moved me to tears several times. I understand that changes won't be happening right away - but the fact that there is a new and more competent (in my opinion) President has me so excited - I have no words.
I will be watching the coverage all day - this is a day that will be remembered by everyone, everywhere - a truly historical day. And I am glad I lived to see this day.

Yuck
So, we were going to go to see "Oliver & Company" tonight, but I think I'm coming down with something - which of course sent Christy moving quickly out the door this morning, lol. I hate getting sick - but I have to say, I haven't been sick in a long time. This is probably because I haven't been around kids a lot lately - I love them, but they're infested with germs from other kids, and I catch EVERYTHING... so just being in an apartment with another adult, we don't get sick a lot. I'm not even around kids enough at work - at least I thought I wasn't, because I don't know where I got this bug. Unless Christy brought it back from New York with her - but that can't be the case either because it usually takes people more than two days to get sick - so yeah, I'm a bit perplexed as to where it came from. My plan is to just stay indoors today, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, etc... because I'm not taking Friday off - can't do that if I'm going for that attendance award. :)

What?!? WHY???
So I go back to work today after two weeks, and for the most part, I had a really good night. Until I realized they put the SLOWEST person on the job duty that takes the longest... dish duty. The dishwasher is always the last to finish because they have to wait for the food side AND the ice cream side to close - needless to say, we don't close everything until the last person is out the door. Locked = Closed... and we can't lock people in, our doors don't work that way. Anyway, so the girl doing dishes tonight is a nice enough girl - very sweet - but VERY slow... so she ended up with me and four others in there helping her out so we could get out at a decent hour. What were they thinking when they made the schedule??
On another note - I've decided to go for an attendance award. It's not hard - they give one every ninety days. Not ninety days that you work - but every three months. So I'm only working two days a week - ergo 24 days scheduled in a three month period. I'm sure I can handle making it to every shift, lol. So that's my goal - the attendance award.
Nothing else going on - got company again tonight. I think she doesn't like being alone, and since the boyfriend is away - well, here she is with me, lol. It's cool though, I love spending time with her - since at this moment in my life, she's the only one that really knows who I am. It's nice to have someone around that understands me.

Back to Disney Today
Heading back to work at the Soda Fountain & Studio Store today - it's about time, considering I haven't been scheduled for TWO WEEKS!! Thank goodness I have my website business too - or I would not survive, lol. But yeah, going in today - so if anybody is in the Hollywood/Highland area after 5:30pm, come by and see me - I'll be standing out front as a Greeter. :)
I woke up just a little while ago because Christy was here late - then the roommate and I headed out to pick up some movies & food. She (the roommate) came back last night and actually apologized for what happened yesterday. I am not sure if she did it because she was really sorry - or if she did it because Christy was here, and Christy intimidates her, lol (LONG story) - but whatever the reason, she said she was sorry. So we'll see what happens now. Even with an apology though, I may have to look for another place - because of the rent. It depends on what kind of hours I'll be getting at Disney from now on.
Anyone else having trouble logging into Facebook? I hate it when that happens - especially when I've received notice of a friends request. Drives me nuts! Plus, it's one network I always log into because it's how I communicate with some of my friends - being the only network they use.
Anyway, so that's what's up. I have to get things going today - might update when I get home from work tonight, depends on how tired I am.
