Independance Day 2009

I've been trying to think of celebrations from the past - and the one that sticks in my memory the most is the year that Loni, Codi and I went to the coast to watch the fireworks there.  It was in Newport, Oregon - and it was just beautiful to see the lights over the water - I've never seen anything like it before, or since.  Not to mention the fact that I got to spend the holiday with one of the sweetest and smartest little girls I had ever met.

Codi is gone now, but she definitely left the memories of fun times and sweet smiles behind.  She taught me a lot about life, and how children seem to be able to grasp the meaning so much quicker than adults.

I think of Codi every 4th of July - because she made one of mine so spectacular.

Thank you Codi - R.I.P. little angel.
